My Culinary Journey at the International Pizza Expo 2024 Las Vegas

Karen Pisciotto at Pizza Expo

For an Italian-American woman with a deep love for pizza and Italian cuisine, attending the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas is a truly magical experience. The atmosphere of old Las Vegas, where I love to stay, combined with the bustling days at the expo, make this three-day event each year truly unforgettable, filled with cherished memories.

Fremont Expirience

For the past three years, ever since I started my pizza and pasta catering business in Los Angeles, I've set aside all other activities to dedicate three days to this experience. I usually arrive in Las Vegas the evening before the expo begins and immediately immerse myself in the Fremont Experience. I listen to live music, sip on drinks, and dance until I'm pleasantly tired, knowing that the next day will be filled with exploring expo booths. However, I'm also excited to sample a variety of Italian foods and discover the latest industry innovations to enhance my business.

Enrico Porzio

In addition to culinary discoveries and new trends, each year I have the opportunity to meet the best pizza makers from Italy and America, as well as engage with fellow female pizza makers who are part of the Women in Pizza association.

Vincenzo Capuano

A highlight is always meeting Alessio Lacco and Vito Iacopelli, the two pizza makers who inspired the creation of my business, as well as renowned Italian pizza makers like Enrico Porzio and Vincenzo Capuano, whose pizzas I've tasted during my trips back to Italy.

Vito Iacopelli's Pizza

Over the three days, I also seize the opportunity to find new suppliers and taste all the innovative products I can. When I find something truly exceptional, I try to incorporate it into the menu of my high-end catering service.

Las Vegas

Once the three days are over, I return to Los Angeles with bags full of gadgets and flyers to review and study, but also brimming with new ideas and motivation, not to mention a satisfied stomach.

Overall, it's an experience I highly recommend to all lovers of Italian food and pizza.
